ITINERARY
Start as early as you like. I recommend between 9 and 10 am. The first job is to prepare the model for casting, which can involve filling gaps and altering or cutting the model to get the best results.

After this step, a sprue is added to allow the resin to best enter the mould and reach all the parts of the cast. Getting the mould box all set up usually takes 1 to 2 hours.

Once the model is ready, a box is built around the parts and silicone is poured over. This then takes about 2 hours to set, so this is a lunch break and free time.

Once the silicone is set and cured, the mould is carefully cut open and the master model is removed. The mould is ready to cast!
Then high quality polyester resin is poured into the mould. The process to mix, pour and set takes about 30 minutes. Any time left in the day can be spent cycling the mould every half hour.

BOOKING
Email me through the contacts page or message me on Instagram or Facebook so we can make an appointment. I’m fairly flexible and am happy to run the workshop on any day of the week.

GROUP BOOKINGS
The Ramshackle Games studio can comfortable fit up to four attendees.

SUITABILITY TO CAST
Not all models are suitable to cast. Most materials are fine too, although absorbent or very thin sections can cause issues. Please check before the workshop to ensure your model is going to be ok for casting.

NO RECASTING!
Production and intellectual property rights for the pieces to be moulded must be granted to attendees. This means you cant bring models that are not made by you! Ramshackle is happy to supply master models for you to use, but usually the idea is to make a mould of something you have sculpted yourself. All materials are suitable, including 3D printed masters.
